Chellie Fernandez

Director of High School Pathways

Chellie believes in increasing postsecondary attainment for boys and young men of color. As Director of High School Pathways, Chellie also oversees My Brother’s Keeper San Antonio. As a teacher, she saw firsthand the punitive impact punitive practices had on young people of color. She has a Master’s of Social Work from The University of Chicago, with a concentration in School Leadership in Community Schools. Her research explores the school-to-prison pipeline and alternative school discipline strategies, such as circle keepers and trauma-informed schools.
