Future Ready Bexar County

By 2030, we will increase postsecondary enrollment of Bexar County High School graduates in a degree or credential program to 70%.

How will we know that young people are Future Ready?

Healing

Young people will be future ready when they all have the developmental relationships and healing supports they need.

Access

Young people will be future ready when they can all access high quality education and career opportunities.

Voice

Young people will be future ready when their voices are heard and their leadership potential is nurtured.

San Antonio and Bexar County are rich with systems leaders committed to ensuring a more equitable future for the next generation. ‘Future Ready Bexar County’ is a plan to guide shared action. It provides leaders the shared language and practices needed to drive real progress towards a uniting goal: By 2030, we will increase postsecondary enrollment of Bexar County High School graduates in a degree or credential program to 70%. We elaborate on additional key metrics to track progress in the down downloadable Future Ready Bexar County Plan.

Intended Results

Together with partners, our board of directors, community leaders and the National Resource Network, we will establish shared priorities, vision and metrics for our community’s future readiness. In 2020, our board of directors and partners signed the UP Partnership Equitable Recovery Pledge, which challenged institution leaders to keep equity at the center of decision-making as they tackled the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. With this process, we are moving from pledge to plan.
