Christina Martinez is a seasoned public engagement and education leader dedicated to advancing equity and opportunity for young people across Bexar County. As Managing Director of Public Engagement at UP Partnership, she guides cross-sector collaboration and storytelling efforts that unite schools, nonprofits, and community partners in support of the Future Ready Bexar County Plan. A 2025 San Antonio Business Journal honoree, Martinez is recognized for her leadership in fostering community alignment and educational impact.
Martinez serves as Board Vice President of the San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD), representing District 6 since 2017. A lifelong youth development professional, she is trained in Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Trauma-Informed Care and is a certified Developmental Relationships trainer with The Search Institute. She also serves on the Executive Committee of The Council of Great City Schools, helping shape national conversations on urban education.
The daughter of two public-school educators, Martinez and her husband are lifelong residents of the SAISD community, where their three children have attended SAISD schools. She believes public schools are the foundation of democracy and that every family deserves access to a school that meets their unique needs.
